Expected Fitment Factor in 8th CPC

Based on the trends from the 6th (1.86) and 7th (2.57) Pay Commissions, 8th CPC may apply a fitment factor ranging from 1.92 to 2.86. The government will finalize the exact multiplier, but employees can estimate their new basic using the upper-end factor of 2.86 for now.

When Will 8th Pay Commission Be Implemented?

The 8th CPC report is likely to be submitted by the end of 2025. Implementation is expected after January 1, 2026, although it may be delayed sometime. Employees will likely receive arrears from the effective date if so.
